May 01, 2005

BRISTOL, UK — Kliklok Woodman’s participation in Interpack 2005 in Dusseldorf last month proved to be a resounding success. The company’s largest ever presentation of working equipment featured no less than seven machines, three of which were launched for the first time in Europe.

The main attraction on the 280m2 stand was the SERVO HSR, Kliklok’s high speed, continuous motion endload cartoner, running at speeds of up to 250 cartons per minute. Full application of servos and graphic display colour touch screen mean dramatically reduced changeover times and mechanical drive components for maximum reliability and efficiency. The Servo HSR was integrated with a SIPTU, a Smooth Independent Product Transfer Unit, running ready meal trays. The SIPTU’s multiple belts give gentle, progressive acceleration and accurate positioning of the trays for transfer into the Servo HSR infeed.

Also being demonstrated was the New Polaris II bagmaker with ‘close coupled’ integrated Yamato 514 Alpha weigher, running mini snack products. This 100 bags per minute machinefeatures full servo motor control with Insight® Colour Touch Screen for easy operator set up and use, automatic machine timing for optimal performance, and PLC control system.

The other bagmaker on display was Kliklok Woodman’s New Compak II, offering an increased bag size range, off-the-shelf PLC control, Insight® Colour Touch Screen, automatic machine timing, and advanced snack food features.

Kliklok Woodman’s new Vari-Right,the newest release in the KW line of carton closers, attracted much attention, with its revolutionary patented Variable Pitch technology, providing "lugs on demand" for maximum carton control.

Together with the Certiwrap 150 wraparound cartoner, for sleeving of single or multi-pack products, and the ever-popular ECT500 glue former, Kliklok Woodman were really able to show their full potential as a worldwide packaging equipment supplier.

Kliklok Woodman received literally hundreds of visitors on their stand - from Australia, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Israel, South America, India, as well as Europe and the Far East.

They were particularly pleased to see many of their existing customers and distributors visiting the stand, as well as having the opportunity to introduce themselves to a huge number of new contacts for future projects.

Kliklok Woodman’s Managing Director Rob Davis says: “The combined efforts of Kliklok Woodman UK and USA helped to make this prestigious exhibition a truly joint success, particularly because every machine on the stand is now sold and will soon be delivered to new customers throughout the world. For us, this has without doubt been the best Interpack yet!”
