Kliklok-Woodman Spotlights New Machines at PackExpo 2008
October 17, 2008
Kliklok-Woodman is pleased to announce their packaging machinery lineup for Pack Expo International 2008 in Chicago, IL (Nov. 9-13). This year's lineup in Booth S-1601 includes an endload cartoner, a topload cartoning line and a new VFFS bagmaker.
The spotlights in Booth S-1601 will shine brightly on Woodman's flexible packaging expertise and legendary reliability as KW showcases its new VFFS bagmaker - the Apache. The Apache stands on a new "Flex-Mount" welded tubular steel frame that allows weighers and volumetric fillers to be direct-mounted to the machine, eliminating the need for a support structure or mezzanine. A swing-away electrical cabinet allows total access for ease of maintenance.
The Apache offers a large bag size range (12" x 25") with a low overhead stack-up height of under 9' (bagmaker and scale) for maximum productivity. For ease of operation, the Apache features Kliklok-Woodman's second-generation Insight® HMI, with new icons, simplified controls and multi-lingual control system.
Kliklok's flagship endload cartoning machine, the CELOX®, will also be on display with its sleek, eye-catching lines and features for outstanding operator interface and accessibility, rapid changeover and minimal maintenance including:
• An improved rotary carton feeder with servo motion profiles
• A robust, fully-welded stainless steel frame
• A design that is user friendly and ergonomic
• The highest standard-feature specifications in the industry
Kliklok's Vari-Straight topload carton closing machine will be part of a topload production line that includes a Genesis forming machine and a new Variable-Pitch conveyor.
Kliklok-Woodman has incorporated in the Vari-Straight the variable pitch technology advantages so evident in its extremely popular Vari-Right carton closing machine, providing plant layout flexibility and greater speed and productivity opportunities. This inline tri-seal carton closer provides a controlled carton turn without a change in direction on its unique turning bed, featuring "pop-up" turning bars that capture the cartons and guide them through a 90° turn and into the charlotte closing section. Thus eliminated are the slip and timing issues inherent on conventional "lugless" carton closers.
Standard features include:
• Industry-leading ease of operation with our Insight® Color Touch Screen HMI
• Patented Variable Pitch carton transport
• Off-the-shelf servos, drives and machine controls
• Easy 3-D carton size changeover
• Stainless steel construction with rugged welded tubular steel frame
Kliklok's variable pitch technology has also been ported to a straight-line conveying machine. The same outstanding flexibility and precise control on the Vari-Right and the Vari-Straight can now be realized anywhere in the production line. The Vari-Pitch Conveyor will be mated to a Genesis topload carton former and the Vari-Straight. A video will show the loading process that takes place along the conveyor's length.
