New Developments in Kliklok Woodman's Line of Refrigerated and Frozen Food Packaging Equipment

April 28, 2006

Kliklok Woodman is well known throughout the refrigerated and frozen food marketplace as the inventor of its patented rotary feeder mechanism. Kliklok uses this system across many of its end load machinery models to erect cartons and consistently place them into the carton carrying chain with unparalleled efficiency. With the same innovative spirit of ensuring positive control, Kliklok Woodman has developed a full range of product handling and loading systems that are used to transfer products into the flights of and end load cartoner. In many instances these non-robotic devices not only load products, but stack, reject and reorient them as they are being moved into position.

One of Kliklok Woodman's most innovative developments amongst the group of product handling systems is the Pizza Stacker. As its name suggests, the Pizza Stacker is designed specifically to aid in the packing of pizzas for multi-count cartons. The Pizza Stacker can load up to four pizzas in a single flight through the use of an overhead sweep mechanism and a staging shelf where pizzas are accumulated. The Pizza Stacker boasts several successful installations in Europe and is now being sold into the US as well.

"What specific benefits does this equipment offer to processors of refrigerated and frozen foods?"

According to Marketing Manager, Janet Caspers, "The Pizza Stacker provides our customers with an inexpensive means to run club store packs without affecting our customer's ability to run the single pizza cartons as well. It can be easily adjusted to run up to four pizzas or not to stack at all. In addition, customers do not have the added expense, space requirement or complication of a robotic loading system."
