Kliklok-Woodman Expands Bagmaker Line With CMD Vertical Form/Fill/Seal Technology - Companies Ink Exclusive Sales and Support Alliance

August 03, 2005

ATLANTA, GA — Industry leaders Kliklok-Woodman (Decatur, GA) and CMD Corporation (Appleton, WI) have signed an agreement that expands the Woodman line of bagmakers, and creates an exclusive marketing, sales and after sales customer support channel for CMD vertical form, fill, seal (VFFS) technology. This alliance propels the two privately-held companies to the forefront of a competitive market niche by bringing new value in VFFS technology to current and prospective customers.

“Kliklok-Woodman already meets our customers’ price and performance points with the broadest offering of machines in the snack industry,” explains Peter Black, Kliklok-Woodman president. “CMD has developed exciting technologies in high speed packaging and in special shape and reclosable packaging. By aligning and offering CMD’s compelling technology with the Woodman family of bagmakers, we significantly broaden our industry reach and bring best in class products to our mutual customers.”

CMD’s president John Schmidt sees this relationship as unique in an environment where many alliances typically result in a duplication of equipment and cost structures. “The two companies bring different but complementary expertise to the table,” affirms Mr. Schmidt. “Kliklok-Woodman offers a proven-effective infrastructure in sales, parts and service support as well as deep experience in many markets. At the same time, CMD develops vertical form, fill, seal technologies that reach into still other markets. By coming together with one approach and one offering, we ensure success for customers across more numerous industries and effective growth for both organizations.”
